November PDM Summary: Integrated Supply Chain Data in Healthcare

Our Chapter's November PDM had over 40 people listen to Peter Schemm discuss his work in organizing and improving the supply chain within the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP).  Peter is the Sr. Director of Process and Technology and is the business systems owner for all supply chain processes.
CHOP is the oldest children's hospital in the USA.....since 1855.  Peter discussed the challenges in balancing cost, quality and outcomes.....where even one stock out can impact the life of a child.  They have the challenge of maintaining stock 24 x 7 in over 55,000 storage bins located around the hospital complex.   With innovative techniques and a excellent processes, they have achieved outstanding turnover ratio while dramatically decreasing stock-outs.
The Brandywine Valley Chapter is also proud to announce that all registration fees from this meeting have been donated to CHOP's Reach Out and Read program where every patient receives a new book with every visit.
